
SOcial Worker
The Social Worker will work with rescued survivors of sexual exploitation to facilitate their educational process as well to build their mental development, self-esteem, and dignity. She will have to coordinate with the Superintendents for direction regarding her duties as a Social Worker. At times, she may also need to coordinate with other staff for various activities.
Responsibilities

Based on stated objectives, help develop and implement aftercare rehabilitation strategies and tactics in a small group aftercare home.

Train and encourage housemothers to provide therapeutic daily interaction with trafficking survivors.

Consistent focus on case work/counselling with thorough documentation of all activities and information.

Accompany the residents on outings/trips/markets/hospitals/bank/shopping and college when needed

Ensure that concise but thorough written reports are provided in a timely manner

Ensure continual communication with supervisor regarding the status of aftercare residential team efforts and challenges faced.

Examine and facilitate the beneficiaries with their respected admission procedures for the various courses and career pursuits.

Maintain the financial accounts of the residential aftercare home and report to the supervisor at month end.

Report any drastic behavioural changes observed in the residents/any behaviour that gives cause to worry immediately to the supervisor.

Take devotions at the Group Homes and provide spiritual support when required

Fully understand relevant victim protection policies, custody laws, and relevant procedures

Track resident progress towards goals

Ensure that residents receive legally-mandated aftercare protections
-
Develop and continually maintain aftercare best-practices training manual/materials.

Coordinate visits the group home daily and occasional visits to child welfare committee, and / or other homes where residents are placed for their follow up and care.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with aftercare team members, relevant government leaders, NGOs, and other relevant organizations; and
-
Host visits by Jeevan Aadhar guests, teams, interns and volunteers.

Carry out other additional assignments given by supervisor; and
-
Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.

Skills and Experience

Must hold one of the following graduate degrees (full time course):

Bachelor in Social work (BSW)

Masters in Social work (MSW)

Good computer knowledge including Microsoft Word.

Fluency in Hindi and English essential (oral and written).

To be able to communicate in any other Indian language would benefit.

Fresher or a minimum of one-year experience as a social worker or counsellor providing treatment of victims of traumatic stress, particularly with victims of sexual abuse.
